At MapaSayo, we believe that your travel history, bucket lists, and personal milestones are your business, not ours. Our app is designed to be Local-First, meaning your data stays exactly where it belongs: on your device.

Our Core Privacy Commitment

📍 All travel data is stored locally on your device (SQLite).

❌ No data is uploaded to external servers or the cloud.

❌ No accounts, sign-ups, or login required.

📍 User-Controlled Location: GPS is only accessed when you manually trigger a "Check-In" to verify a province.

❌ No Background Tracking: We never monitor your location in the background or keep a history of your movements.

❌ No third-party analytics or data selling.

1. Information We Collect

We do not collect any personal identification information (PII). Any data you enter into the app — such as provinces visited, bucket list dates, or ratings — is saved into a local database on your smartphone.

Local Database: Stores your "Visited" and "Bucket List" status for Philippine provinces.
System Permissions: We may request permission to save images to your gallery only when you use the "Share Summary" or "Export Map" features.

2. Data Storage & Security

Because your data is stored locally, its security depends on the security of your device. We do not have a "backdoor" or a way to recover your data if you delete the app or lose your phone, as we never possessed that data to begin with.

3. Third-Party Services

MapaSayo may use standard system libraries (like Google Maps or OpenStreetMap tiles) to display geographic information. These services may collect non-identifiable technical data as part of their standard operation, but MapaSayo does not share your specific travel markers with them.

4. Data Deletion

Since all data lives on your device, you have total control:

In-App: You can clear specific visits or bucket list items at any time.
Full Wipe: Uninstalling the app or "Clearing Data" in your Android/iOS settings will permanently delete all your MapaSayo data.
